Art Starts is a community-focused arts organization dedicated to making the arts accessible and empowering individuals in Toronto’s underserved neighbourhoods. Through collaborative programs, workshops, and events, we support creative expression and foster personal and community growth.

Our primary space is located in Yorkdale Mall, where we host workshops, exhibitions, community events, and artist development programs. If it’s your first time visiting our space, you’ll find us on the Lower Level of Yorkdale Mall. Start by locating the Nike store on the main level, then look for the hallway to the left (marked with the Art Starts logo above). Take the elevator at the end of the hall down to the Lower Level (LL), and you’ll find us through the doors on the right.

Should the elevators be out of service, please call us at 416-656-9994, and a staff member will assist you. Alternatively, Yorkdale Security can help with access to the Lower Level and can be reached at 416-789-9950.

Our programs are open to a range of participants, including children, youth, adults, and seniors. We work with artists of all experience levels, and many programs are designed to reflect the needs of specific communities within Toronto.

Yes! While we’re not yet offering formal rentals with posted rates, we encourage those interested in partnerships, event rentals, or program collaboration to reach out to discuss opportunities.
